An Example

Okay. Let me show you an example of posting photos.

This is a photo of a frog I took near my home one night. I was walking home and I saw it laying still, so I took it using a CAMERA PHONE (2MP btw).

I admit this photo has MANY flaws.

1) Grainy (due to lack of light and no flash)

2) Blur (due to lack of flash, so I used night mode=slow shutter)

3) Lacks colour saturation (due to lack of white balance control)

4) Low resolution (lack of pixels to take the photo)

5) My camera phone is not good enough for a camera.

From this, you can see 2 things.

1) Camera phones suck

2) Night time needs flash unless you are using SLR to adjust shutter speed to very slow(more time=more risk of shaking) or aperture to very low(the camera hole becomes wide to allow more light to come in).

Ok. So that's an example of a photo essay

I got a website that is quite good. It's a blog made by one of my church mates, who is a photographer. And maybe I might want to use his "photo essay" if its possible.

Rules and Regulations

Okay.

Today we had a farewell party for the Sec 4s and had loads of pizza.

And Miss Yeo asked me to set up this blog for the photography club to replace the old forum.

So rules and regulations:

1) Please don't write vulgar. No examples needed.

2) Post anything that is RELATED to Photography only. Actually you can post anything under the Sun but just try to lean more on things about photography

3) You can help to improve this blog by just contacting me or Jin Yong or Astley which you should have the numbers.

4) Retired members like Sheng Yang or Aaron Neo can also blog, just contact me or Jin Yong or Astley. (I am sure someone by the name of Alvin Teo would be interested... :p)

5) You can use the blog to post photos which you think is nice when you need us or the teachers to consult, you can also blog to post photos as practice for the next competition.(I mean the format of submission to the competitions)

6) You can also point out mistakes ONLY by writing comments for the photos. Or use the tag-board, but please SPECIFY which photo.

7) Duties and Outings and Meetings will also be posted on the blog.

8) Lastly, try to keep the blog as alive as possible.

That's all for the moment.
